The word verdict in Latin veredictum, means to say the truth.

That a jury would truthfully state the innocence and or the guilt of a defendant in which a case has been heard at trial and received due process.

If a criminal case gets this far as to a verdict being announced at trial by a jury, then as a defendant in a criminal court case more than anything else you would desire the verdict to be not guilty.

Your criminal court case did not start at trial, it started either at the initial detainment by the police and or arrest dependant circumstance.

From posting bail, to your first court appearance all has been documented and examined by both the prosecution and defense.

Investigations that took place prior to trail, evidence that was gathered on behalf of a defendant, depositions, motions and more to include the entire pre-trial process all lead to trial.

Trial at it’s conclusion leads to closing statements summarizing all and then a verdict.

The verdict is where most hold there breath when presented and the verdict is truly what matters in a criminal defense case.

In finding a defendant not guilty to the defendants advantage an experienced trial lawyer is best.

Criminal defense trial lawyer Erik Courtney’s favorite words are not guilty and is extremely aggressive in hearing these words at trial; if to get that far.
