It is asked of a jury that a defendant be found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
This
is the standard of evidence required to find a defendant guilty a trial.
Information
presented to the jury on behalf of the prosecution is to establish either as factual
and or as circumstance that the defendant is guilty where no reasonable doubt exist
in any juror.
The job of a criminal defense attorney is to establish that a defendant
is not guilty by providing reasonable doubt as to what the prosecution has presented
in a criminal court case.
For example if a state prosecuting attorney claims that
the defendant was at a specific location and at a certain time and the defense clearly
establishes that the defendant was not at the place in question at that time.
Then
